It is celebrated on the first day of spring, the fifth day of Magha, and the festival has a long history and tradition of celebrating with flowers and food.
Goddess Saraswati is mentioned in medieval and ancient Indian literature between 1000 BC and 1500 AD. In Shanti Parva of Mahabharata, the epic of Hindu culture, the goddess of knowledge has been called the mother of the Vedas. She is believed to be an inherent part of the goddess Mahatma mythology. She is an integral part of the trinity of three goddesses Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati and Mahaparvati. In Hindu Vedic literature, the goddess is given equal importance to the river Ganga. In Book 10 of the Rigveda he is described as “a symbol of wisdom”.
In the book named Taittiriya Brahmana, Goddess Saraswati has been called the mother of melodious music and fluent speech. In Rig Veda Book 10 she is referred to as a goddess of purifying and healing powers and flowing rivers. Their importance increases with the Vedas written after Rigveda. In religious scriptures or scriptures and Upanishads, the deity is invoked in prayer to remind readers to contemplate virtues.
